WOW....its a snap on!
never seen one of these before!
its a bit tricky to get on......and it moves while on the lens (rotates) I dont really like it....is there another hood that will fit this lens that will attach like my other hoods?

As a bonus, I use that same hood for my 50 1.8 MK1. Never had a problem with it coming off while in use. You can upgrade to the L hood, but it costs $125.

All my others are bayonet mount - I have to think about putting on the 85's hood. "Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

More info | May 03, 2007 21:44 | #15 The 85 is a great lens, but I agree the hood has to be one of canons major mistakes. Close behind their lens filters, tripods, monopods, and bags. The hood comes off almost as easily as it goes on so do not count on it for any protection in case of a bump, etc... Doc Klepper in the USA
