NickR Senior Member  More info | May 03, 2007 16:47 | #1 I posted these in the Lens Section, I thought it would good to post here as well, just got my hands on my new Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS , I have had the lens for a couple of hours and shot a few garden birds, initial impressions are that this lens is stunningly sharp wide open at f/2.8, The pigeon shots are at f/5 all the rest f/2.8. May 04, 2007 12:36 | #13 Thanks guys for all your advice and comments, I spent a few hours today in the garden with 1.4x and 2.0 TC's (extenders) I can't believe how much PP I don't have to do now especially sharpening, I am over the moon with this lens.
