What do you think of this picture in terms of distortion? There seems to be something about it that isn't right, but I can't put my finger on it. I straightened the horizon and tried to correct lens distortion, but it still looks...off.

Any ideas? Am I just imagining it?

it looks to me as if the horizon is curved. I'll have a go at correcting it later after I've seen spiderman :-)

It looks a bit soft too.

Yeah...I suppose there may be a very slight bit of distortion here, but beyond that, what exactly is the focal point of the picture. Aside from the rocks in the very near FG, and some tiny ships far off in the distance, there's not much interest for me in this shot.

I tried correcting the lens distortion in Photoshop, but it was a quick and dirty job, so I probably didn't do it very accurately. If someone wouldn't mind doing it correctly and telling me how, I'd appreciate it.

As for subject, I really just wanted to capture the color gradient in the water. To the right and left is a concrete walkway that kind of ruins the picture. I've got another with a boat much closer, but I didn't like the color as much. Perhaps if I crop this one further, maybe halfway into the light-colored water, would it be better subject wise, so the rocks become the subject?

Ive corrected it although it might want a slight rotation too before applying correction but you can try that out yourself. I used the lens correction filter in cs2 and altered the amount of distortion and recropped slightly. It may want rotated left a degree or so as I said but its near enough for you to get the idea of how to do it

I used lens correction and straightened it, then adjusted the contrast and saturation a tad. Hows this?
