We put up a wood duck house in our backyard about 2 weeks ago and a mating pair of ducks adopted the house right away.

I hadn't seen the ducks for the better part of a week and thought they had abandoned the nest. However, tonight I saw them and happened to have the camera handy.

Attached are a couple of pictures of the hen going into the house/nest. The shot was a long one even for the 100-400 at about 60 yards and I cropped quite a bit to show the action, so the pictures are not sharp.

Still I had fun capturing our duck mother. It's surprising how those ducks can get into such a small hole in the house.

Take care all.

I'm lucky if I see either male or female once every four or five days. It's a matter of being there at the right time...which I haven't figured out yet what is the right time.

Thanks for the comments.
