Hi, i'm planning on getting a 2nd body later this year - possibly a 1d mkIIn or another 30d [maybe 40d if it's out at the time] but i'm trying to find a bag that will take both cameras with 17-55 f2.8 attached to one, and 70-200 f2.8 IS attached to the other......

i may also want to be able to fit maybe my 85 or 50mm in there too and 1 flash...... i'd kind of like something maybe from crumpler, or at least looks a little less like a camera bag..... and preferably not a back pack........ Any suggestions?? i did a search but couldn't find anything using my keywords....

Cheers

Steve

Domke F-1x or F-7(if you want to store them vertically).

Actually, that may fit OK in the Domke F-2 as well. If one 30D was sans grip, maybe the F-4AF even.

How would you arrange it with the F-2 Jon? Maybe use a different insert than the standard 4 square one? The 70-200 attached to a camera would be too tall to stand up, right?

I use the 1, 2 and/or 3-compartment inserts (720-200, -220 and -230) in all my bags. The 4-compartment ones only get used for storage at home.

I figured that. I only have the 4 compartment and it works for my current gear but should I add more gear Ithink I will also need to include additional inserts. Thanks.

The is a black F-3X currently on Cambags.com. Can someone tell me what the drawstring bag holding the flash in the side pocket is? is this an accessory or just something the bag owner found to work? Thanks.

Couldn't say - you do realize that's on the Nikon D70/F-3X page, so it could either be what Nikon supplies or what the owner likes. I shove my 580EX in Canon pouch in my Domkes.

Brain fade. Didn't even think about it coming with the Nikon flash. Thanks Jon.

hmmm.... thanks for the bag suggestion. quite like the look of the F2, so if i got an F2 and 2 of these inserts http://www.adorama.com/DMFA210.html (external link) i should be able to have both cameras with lenses [70-200 f2.8 & 17-55 f2.8] mounted lying side by side? correct?

or would the camera with a 17-55 fit in a smaller insert? if it did then i could possibly have another small insert for a flash or the 85mm....... any suggestions on configuration of the inserts appreciated...

Thanks again

Steve

I usually keep my lenses in the smaller compartments; the 70-200 fits into one nicely alone; I keep the 5D/24-70 in one end of the FA-230 3-compartment insert most of the time and have the 20D/70-200 on its side in the main body of the bag. The pockets in the front of the bag help protect the body/lens so you don't really need padding unless you're really harsh with your gear. The single-compartment insert I use is the FA-200 (external link) as close as I can see.
