Currently using Promaster Flash 4GB in 5D and 2GB in 20D need extras for more memory but don't want to go out of town to buy would like to order from B&H and have shipped. What would be the better brands and why. Thanks for your help.

SanDisk is what I use - currently the Extreme III 4 GB is $71.95 at B&H; the Ultra II is only $1 less, and the regular is $66.95, so go for the Extreme III.

I have ultra II's. I picked three 2gig cards when compusa had them for $30 or so.

I am happy with them.

SanDisk seems to be the standard, but there are others out there that also perform well, and are cheaper. I use Ritek cards that I get from Newegg. Cheaper than SanDisk, and a lot of members around here also seem to Ritek (Ridata) as well. Regardless of which brand you select, do take a look at some other vendors such as Newegg, or BuyDig, as they will probably have better prices than B&H on flash, and are just as reputable.

Sandisk is my first choice. Have a Lexar Pro that seem to be working fine as well.

When asking that question here, you will find most use Sandisk - Ultra II or Extreme III or IV. They are great cards. Others use Transend (120X) or Lexar (133X) or Ritek....probably a lot more, but those seem to be the most mentioned.

I use Ultra II and Transend 120X - speed on both are virually identical. Price on CF cards appears to be going down, so shop around and get the best deal you can, just watch out for counterfit cards.

If your interested in how fast the cards are, here is a link: http://www.robgalbraith.com …ti_page.asp?cid=6007-7699 (external link)

In my Canon A95 I regularly use SanDisk, Kingston, and Lexar, and have had no problems with any of them.

It seems that Sandisk cards perform the best in Canon DSLRs - Rob Galbraith's database usually shows that. That said, the difference in performance is not that big, so other brands may be worth your while. But for me, Sandisk is the choice.

I don't pay much attention to the card-to-computer speed, just the camera-to-card speed.

Have Fun,

Rick

I have 2 Lexar 133x. Real nice, just wish they weren't 2GB. I got a 4GB Ultra II only cause it was cheap. Found out Adorama has 4GB extremem III (still 133x) for $35 and 8GB for $70 so...watch out!
