Hello all,

I'm sat here going through the pics from last nights shoot. As the subject says - these are not mine. My buddy took these.

C&C are absolutely wanted. Positive as well as negative.

No PP done at all.

Thank you in advance.

#1 & #6 Odd crops putting this guy in the middle ... in #6 his hand and the mic are in an unfortunate place, too. #2 is good. In #3 we have two guys' faces obscured by guitar necks. #4 His head is turned a bit far for a profile and it looks a touch soft. #5 seems to have an odd crop, again as though he was using a center AF spot and couldn't recompose.

They also seem to have a "flatness" about them ... I can't tell what it is, perhaps the smoke, but I look at the ones I recently shot (see http://www.dwightmccann.com …012007/content/index.html (external link)) and they just seem snappier. I'm not claiming mine are better, but there is a difference that I can't put my finger on.

Lastly, who is the guy in the red glasses?

I think Johnstay was answering Dwight... ("Lastly, who is the guy in the red glasses?") ;)

If you crop #2 it's a nice image.
Dwight said most of it. I'll add one comment though: Why was everything shot in 'landscape' orientation?

I especially like #2... It's got great composition and color...

(I have a similar picture of some these guys together, but with a prime 85mm 1.8 lens...it's real tight and it looks more placid... This one your friend got is real nice and mellow, but also captures the great action ...)

#6 is also great in composition and colors... The subject (Tommy) is a real nice guy, and a big favorite of the groupies... If I recall correctly, he discretely made the same gesture at our show to someone in the pit...

The "groupie" he's pointing at happens to be me who is sat on the little barrier step, singing along to "Too Much Time" being a total "fan girl". I've waited over 20 years to see Styx and got to sit in the pit the entire show.

And yeah - he is drop dead stunning!

Nice shots, overall.

I'm hoping to shoot them later this year. Tommy plays our guitars, so I'm hoping to use that as an "in" to get into the pit...
