These birds have been given us Ottawa photogs some great ops...They're quite approchable and a very beautiful bird.

Two excellent shots Marc with the colors in the second suggesting adifferent light...earlier in the A.M. perhaps. Love the ruffled breast feathere and bokeh in the first. Only suggestion would be to clone out the oof whatever it is below the branch on the left...and a small point in the top left corner.

Great shots Marc. I have found a nesting tree here with tree swallows and they do seem to be very tame. While the nest is at the top of an old dead snag, the birds will fly within a couple feet of me while I'm standing on the ground with the tripod. Not attacking, just catching low flying bugs. :)

You're very lucky to have some with a natural perch. There are many in my area, but I haven't found one not nesting in a nestbox.
