Model release after death?

I know this is a slightly bizare question, but I started thinking about legalities of model release forms and if they are required under certain situations.

If I was to take a portrait of a particular person, then for whatever reason that person dies, would I still need a model release to publish said picture for profit?

No, I'm not actually in this situation. It's just something that popped into my head and couldn't answer myself. Peace people!

You still need to get a release signed. No worries, their next of kin can provide that.
