I would like to be able to print small quantities of specialized postcards. Is anyone aware of a photo paper supplier who sells a paper, aprox. 4x6 1/2,that looks like a postcard on the back?

if you look on the internet with any simple search you can find results - i only know of UK ones but htere are bound to be Canadian ones. Let me know if u find any because i was going to do some myself but they were working out more expensive thatn i thought!

I've got a Canon Selphy dye-sub printer that will do exactly what you are looking for. The only paper that they sell for this in 4x6 is set up to be a Post Card on the non-image side. For my use I wish that I could get non-Post Card paper as it looks unprofessional, but for you it would be ideal. The dye-sub prints are amazing but there can be problems with dust. I just think that I need a dust cover for the printer and that problem should be solved.

I bought this printer so I had an in-house way of making excellent quality proof prints. Most of my business is supplying clients with the images electronically, but once in awhile a hard proof can be useful. The Selphy class printer's are pretty cheap and the paper/"ink" costs are probably more than what a 4x6 print would cost from a lab. That cost is almost always off-set by not having to drive over to the lab to get a couple of proof prints made. Having said all of that, if you are looking for a high quality post card printer this is the way to go.

Vistaprint.com - they always have "free" sales of postcards where you pay shipping, I've gotten them before using my pics (fee applies to use your own pics the first time, like 6 bux)...nice quality.

Thanks, guys. Very useful info. I have found that Avery sells photo/postcard stock and so I'll try that first.

They do alot but the quality is not very good...its a very thin postcard that I highly doubt would travel very well...

Cheers,

Did they change? The ones I got were verrrry good (I was VERY surprised). Not the greatest in the world of course, but they were good.

I have no idea if they changed but the paper they printed these one wouldn't travel through the mail very well...

I agree with MJPhotos24. I have picked up a few things from them and I am very happy with the product for the price you pay.
Unforntunately the shipping costs are crazy, I guess that's why you get freebies all the time.

I found some yesterday. When I got them home they proved to simply 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 cards with nothing printed on the back and were quite light weight paper. I had hoped to find some with a standard postcard style preprinted on the back. I'm ging to take back the one's that I bought and try a different (more expensive) brand.

I don't know how small of a run you are thinking, but I use imagemedia.

250 4x6 postcards for $100, save $10 and have them print their logo on the address side. I have bought 2 orders (1 set of 5000!) and they were beautiful.

I hate Vista Print with a passion right now. They tried to jerk me around with some sort of membership fee and stuff. IMHO they aren't trust worthy business wise, but they product is ok.
I highly recommend Overnightprints.com.

membership fee? never heard of it, though I have a login name and all that - unless they are now changing over to memberships? I got some postcards a few months ago, never had a problem, order placed, order recieved, postcards handed out, done and done.

It was really really strange. I was balancing my checkbook and noticed some odd charges that I didn't remember placing. I had ordered mailing labels from them back in February, but didn't order anything from them in March or April, yet my debit card was charged TWICE for $14.95.
When I called them on it, they said "Thats our rewards membership fee that you signed up for." I NEVER signed up for a membership rewards program, and went off on this mission to get my money back. LOL  I contacted the BBB and sure enough....356 complaints against them for this "rewards fee". So, I filed a complaint and got all my money back safe and sound within 10 days.
It's just so weird b/c one of my good friends from College uses them all the time and she's never had a problem.
