I went out knowing this may be a bad day to take photos but I was in search of a Great Egret a friend has been seeing. Well i found him but never got the shot.... I then moved to another spot where I shot a few that I have yet to identify so i will strt with what I know....

This first shot was during a 1 1/2 hour downpour... I mean it was raining buckets so I thought my day was toast.. I say this Night Heron on the River and had to shoot it. I let down the window and handheld the 300 2.8 IS with the 1.4X on the D60 ( gotta love IS) out the other side of my car. Here is the resulting shot.. 1/60 f4

My next shot was taken as it was still raining... It was not as hard of a rain and that made me think it may stop.. here is the shot...

1/800 f4

Northern Shoveler:

This next shot is after the rain stopped.... Both of these guys were taken again with the D60 and the 300 2.8IS but this time with the 2XII and I hand held again...Great Blues were fishing!!!

All shots handheld now that I think about it... I will post more later.....

Nice series Eric, love the dancing shoveler, #1 looks wet! Like the pose on the last one. Great shots, well captured. :)

Good toughing it out and good shots under the circumstances. I stayed put today! I'm going out Mon Morn maybe. The weather is bad every weekend lately.

Nice, Eric. It was a downpour here at my house. I stayed put also.
