Man these birds are so beautiful compared to their drab winter appearance. And they were everywhere the other day. I happened to catch this one while he was drinking some sap or pulling insects out of this tree.

Nice shots, Bob. I'm not familiar with this species.

I have to agree Bob. The Yellow-rumpeds (Myrtle) Warblers are very handsome birds. I don't know what it is but they seem to get bypassed with regularity here on the board. I posted a couple and getting comments was like pulling teeth. Same for a few others that I saw.

I notice all four were in the same spot. How did you get him to stand still for so long?!?! :)

Thanks guys! Ed, I guess if warblers can't get people's attention I don't know what will! All I know is I'm happy with these shots. It's so tough to get warblers in good light, without being blocked by tons of leaves, branches, etc. I'll have to check yours out, I haven't seen them yet. Well, he stood still so long because he was feeding in that hole in the branch. That's the only way, otherwise, their about as flighty as all other warblers.

Nice shots Bob! You right its tough to get these in the open, or sitting still for any length of time. Great BG also. :)

Great shots Bob, they are certainly prettier there than they are when migrating though Southern California. It was nice that it stayed on the one branch for the series.

Very nice shots Bob. There seems to be an explosion of warbles of all kinds this year.
