So I got a new bike for my 5 year daughter Lily and took her out for
her maiden voyage today with my wife. I took the 350D with 400 f5.6L
along, just in case I saw something interesting. As soon as I got started
along the Bay bike trail between Richmond and Albany, I saw a Osprey
flying our direction carrying a large fish. It was having trouble stay up
and making head way against the wind. I realize that the quota for
Osprey with fish is almost up for this year on the forum, but here are a
few shots.

Wow. You've got to be happy with that. Your daughter will definitely be out bike riding a lot more with Dad and Camera.

Thanks Khaja, PaulG5 and Permagrin. I was excited to get this opportunity. I don't
get to see Osprey that often around here.

That fish had to almost out-weigh the bird! Great shots, and I envy the experience you shared with your daughter getting these pictures. Hope she becomes a photographer because of it!

You got some really nice looks at this one, George, even if they are just more of those boring Osprey-with-fish shots. ;) :D
If I ever got one, there'd be a poster of it. Congrats!

Those are really great shots. It is a nice capture of an interesting behavior too. In another thread, someone had several pictures of a bird turning a fish around to get it head first, like this one, to make it more aerodynamic. BTW, I think that is a Striped Bass.

Wow-excellent capture. Although I saw lots of this when I was in Florida, I didn't get a decent shot. These are just the best!

Looks like a striped bass to me also. Good captures.

Very nice George. And look, he face it forward and opened the mouth to fill it up with air. Makes it look bigger to impress the people below. :D

LOL, Mitch, you have been talking to too many Wisconsin fishermen.
