Well it has taken longer than I was hoping but thats how life goes some times. In the end I have most of the hardware mounted. Most (99%) of the software finished.

Here are some updated pictures of most of the hardware installed in the case. I still have 3 switches to mount and a jack to install but other than that its all in there.

So long as nothing big creeps up I am planing on finishing it up wednesday.

As far as component placement in the case goes I am done with that step. I will need to get a hold of some more of the bolts I use for mounting the lcd and some of the switches.

I have enough components at this point to make one more but getting parts should be fine to make as many as people need.

What exactly is this camera timer? Is it something you'd use to trigger a camera and keep the shutter open, in bulb mode, for a certain length of time?

Thats one of the functions. You can use it for things like time laps photograpy, long exposure photograpy, lightning photography with the built in lightning trigger.

You can also triger the timer wirelessly via infared remote (any remote will work).

It also acts as a remote shutter cable when the unit is turned off.

I have never sent any thing over sea's before but I'm sure I can figure it out. ;)

I am thinking of having differnt versions available with and with out the Ir trigger. With and with out the lightning trigger. I know some people may not want/need them.

Yeah that might be an idea well It would depend on pricing but I'd definately want one with an IR trigger, but maybe not the lightning

Do you plan on adding some way it can be attached to items such as a tripod? (hung off central hook on models with one / attached to the legs etc.)

Any news on how you're getting on with your prototype of this?

I think i might have to put my hand up for one as well. Let me know a rough price (your currency or mine, not worried, just lemme know which so i don't calculate twice ). I'd be looking at one with all the bells and whistles, pref with the e3 connector.

Does it still just interact with the digital in/outputs from the camera port? Is there a useable voltage output from that, ie, can you have it powered from the camera? or is that something you've tried and discounted?

Well after fighting to get the lcd display working I finally got it going. I also fixed 3 bugs along the way.

I still have some testing to do but now that the lcd is working that makes things a lot simpler for me to debug code and hardware.

The connectors do supply some power but trying to use that to power the timer would probably cause the camera to do different things constantly depending on the mode you had it in.

It takes 4 AA batteries right now and I am not sure how long the battery life will be but it should be at minimum 10+ hours with the lcd back light turned off. For people looking to do long time laps stuff I can always put an external power port on it for another battery pack.

So when do you think you'll have the first ones available then?
