This is not a good picture, but I seen the hawk drop into the field as I was driving back to work. I stopped, backed up, rolled down the window on the passengers side as I was getting my camera out of the Canon backpack bag. I just turned it on and was starting to get it out the window when it took off. It wasn't till after I got home that I saw the red wing black bird.

Talk about "two birds w/ one stone" :)

Very nice - looks like he's about to land on the hawk & catch a ride

I don't know much about the behavior of birds and not many people believe me, but I HAVE seen small birds hitching rides on red-tailed hawks.:p

Red Wing Black birds have a tendency to start fights with bigger birds. gulls and crows do the same.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Thank you for all your comments, the red wing must have been chasing it, I see a reflection in the #2 picture of it's beak, it is still after the hawk. I seen one chasing two crows today, they are aggressive. Thanks again. rw
