I love that first question

Q: Does the car have a radio and an 8 track tape player?. Also...does the clock work? Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

NOPE, You read that right. The last I heard, They were still waiting for the buyer to pay for it, and if/when that person does, it will take the record for the most expensive car ever sold on ebay. Can you imagine the ebay fee's?

There's a car near me that is painted to look like the General Lee. I never have my camera with me when I see it though - or the WW2 Willis Jeep that's painted in desert campflage.

there was mention in the ebay ad that there had been some problems with people places overly high bids, perhaps that's how it got up to 10m. I mean I love the general lee and all, I grew up watching the dukes, but it's not worth 10m. I'd say 1m tops.

IMHO it's worth no more than any other Dodge Charger from the era albeit with a more colourful history. I'd pay no more than $500 for it and I'd expect to drive it rather than keep it in a museum.

Well, If you read the specs posted in the auction, you'll notice it's a bit more than any ordinary 69 Dodge Charger.
Also, If you DO manage to find an ordinary one, I'm sure you'd have to pay a bit more than $500 if you seriously expect to drive it home. :p
BTW, I agree that driving it would be far more fun than just looking at it in a museum, although that would tend to push it closer to extinction.

Good point, but if I was willing to spend that kind of money, I'm sure it would cost way less to just ask Her out on a date. ;)

I did work for a guy about 15 years ago who supposedly bought one of the original General Lee cars from John Schneider. I was told he even had pictures of himself and John Schneider when he took the trip to pick up the car. I never saw the car or pictures but considering how off the wall the guy was, I'd say it was entirely possible the story was true... I just can't imagine paying the kind of money asked for stuff like this...

Jon.
