I never connect the camera to my Mac.
I don't either - much simpler using the card reader!

For those of you with them, do you see an advantage going with one for fire wire? I could easily do a usb 2.0.....but if I can use my fire wire, why not? Bill

Worked for me. LR reads my CR2 files and does import from my card (Lexar 8gb 300x UDMA) without any problem. And I also own a 50D. I do not have LR2!! yet. LR2 does support the 50D I know. As i said a bit back, I am not trying to spend more money when I just got LR1 not long ago. Bill
