try the right-click shortcut menu - create virtual copies is available on that, plus a load of other useful options.

When I first started using Lightroom (earlier this week!) I was put off by the lack of options, but have since learned where they are and now see how powerful the program is - and I love it!

Hi,
I'm currently using Lightroom on my notebook until i get a monitor for my desktop pc. I havent got too much free space on it, and I dont want to use LR's catalog. Can I disable it?

Thanks!

The Catalog is the core of Lightroom. Without it Lightroom won't know anything about your pictures, where they are or what changes you have made. If you don't want the Catalog then you might as well uninstall Lightroom altogether. In any case, deleting the Catalog will save you very little space. I suggest you look elsewhere to make your space savings - restore points, recycle bin, temp files, data (including image files)you no longer want, purge the Lightroom cache and reduce the allocated size etc. etc.. Or simply buy a larger disk drive, or an external one and shift some stuff off the laptop and onto that.

Thanks! I mostly used Photoshop, and I dont use the extra features what comes with catalog. I will save same space until I move LR to the desktop pc.

I've upgraded from LR2 to 3 and am having a bit of a snag. When I import the old catalog into LR 3 all of my pictures that I've flagged are no longer flagged. Is there a setting of some sort to keep my flags on my pictures when I bring the catalog file into LR3 for the first time?

I just DL the trial of LR3. I love it! So much quicker than PS for basic editing. I'm going to have to buy it once the trial runs out.

On more than 95% of my images, I'll use only LR.

Thanks , I just downloaded it on my #2 PC I mess with it on . Took about 2 hours on wireless so leave yourself some time if you do plan on doing the download .

From what I've read there still may be some tweeks with 3.2 but I guess it is addressing a lot of the initial operating problems and some missing support for certain cameras and lens .

Where is the best place to get Lightroom?

Does it process RAW files?

Thanks.

You can download it from Adobe or get it from just about anywhere that sells software online...NewEgg, Amazon, etc...

Yes it will process RAW files.
