Met Jim Neiger at Bosque and he gave me some tips on how to handhold my 500mm. This image is a result of my practice. This is the 500mm with a 1.4 TC. It's really hard to capture an image in-flight with a BG that is not blue sky, but with the techniques that Jim teaches and lots of practice, you can get sharp images handheld. These same techniques work just as good with a tripod.

Thanks for indulging me Duane , I know Jims work he's one of the best , I'll probably never have to worry about handholding a 500 , :-) I'd enjoy worrying about it though
