Is there a way to automatically crop a picture to 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10 in LR? Any tips greatly appreciated.

???? You're willing to let LR decide where and what to crop?

Yeah, there is an advatage to it if you're doing a lot of uploading for processing. I find that COSTCO doesn't do it well enough and sometimes I get it wrong. I know I've seen something about it somewhere.

Can you define automatic for me? Do you mean you are looking for a way to crop to a standard size or are you wanting to select a group of photos and apply a specific crop to them?

Either. I'd like to be able to do a batch crop but individual is fine. I can do it in PS but I'd like to be able to do it in LR if I can.

OK here you go:

In LR select an image and go to the Develop Module.
At the bottom of the screeen is the Crop Tool (right next to the "eye" for red-eye removal). Click it.
Now the bottom of the screen changes to reveal the details of your crop settings.
To crop to a certain aspect ratio click the drop down icon next to the word Original.
Select your aspect ratio or choose Custom to create your own. The width and height do not matter as when you drag it will change to a landscape or protrait type crop automatically.
Drag just like you do in PS.
Here is where the crop tool in LR is a little different. To move your crop in LR you actually move the image rather than the crop lines.
When you are done click the Enter Key.

To apply a crop to many images try the following:

Open an image.
Make your crop.
In the Left Panel select Copy. Select only the crop settings and click Copy.
In the filmstrip at the bottom of the screen select the images you want to use the same crop for by CTRL or SHIFT Clicking.
In the Left Panel click Paste. Make sure only the crop settings are checked and click Paste.

Perfect!! Thankyou very much. That's what I'd seen but couldnt remember how to get back to it. You're a champ!
