Anyone know what they eat? My book says nothing at all.
Mitch, I doubt they eat nothing.
All wrens are predominantly insect eaters.

May 07, 2007 20:12 | #17 Thanks Gary. I've just been experimenting with the Beamer. I can see where it will have it's uses, especially for backlit or even harsh light shots, but I still like the no flash look. Mitch- ____...^.^...____

May 07, 2007 20:19 | #19 Thanks Ted. This is probably the best or next best picture I have taken yet. And it's mostly luck. I got one shot and oh my, it was in focus. Mitch- ____...^.^...____

May 07, 2007 20:37 | #21 Thanks Dan. Yeah, I saw the light was OK in the preview window and it looked in focus, which was one rush, then when I saw the detail on my monitor I got a big rush. Funny how it's the simple things that are best. Mitch- ____...^.^...____

The detail is just awesome, I can only imagine the rush you got with this. I heard a house wren in the yard today but didn't get a peak. Do you get any Carolina Wrens? They are very pretty also. May 08, 2007 09:58 | #27 Thanks Sindri and Pete. It's amazing how one tiny bird can get me stoked up. He disappeared into the bushes at the edge of my yard. I hope he has cause to hang around. Mitch- ____...^.^...____

When you find the nest, get a bunch of waxworms or mealworms from a bait store and set them a few at a time in an open spot on a nice perch near the nest. You'll have plenty of chances to get more captures of Mr. and Mrs. Wren then. Steve Foss

May 08, 2007 10:39 | #29 Thanks Steve. You can believe I will be looking for this bird again. I even have a cup of mealy worms in the fridge, for hand feeding the Chickadees at my favorite spot. If they are around, I'll take care of them. Mitch- ____...^.^...____
