hello to all
well to day was the first all day rain in weeks which is very unusual for the uk.
but as its was the monday holiday i had to make the most of it.

female blk bird no tail and this is an adault.

Nice set Jason, did you get the hosepipe on that starling! ;) Love the chaffinch shot. Nice work. :)

Beautiful shots, love the soft light, colours and dreamy b/g's, the last 3 pics would be my favourites here.:) I am wondering the same as Phil, what happened to the Starling?;)

thanks for the commments yes it was raining most of the day and the starling was one of many to show this. ive got sparrows looking grumpy and a wet chaffinch. the starling shook on the perch to give this look. as for the colour on the chaffinch/ starling these are large jpeg and seem to be working ok for me.

OK, I just hurt myself laughing at the blackbird with no tail. I've seen this here on some of our birds and it's very funny. They seem to fly OK though, without it. :)

Very nice shots Jason. Were you using slow shutter speeds?

Really nice shots mate, i'm really envious of the Goldfinch, i've not been able to get the exposure right on these yet and always lose the eye in the shadows!?!

That last shot is a classic! :D

thanks for the comments, mitch,scott,kindo anke. as for the shutter speeds not as planned i wanted slow i now we all want shutter speed to blur but i was try out this on a dull day to see what we can get away with the lowest was 1/80 iso800 i should have used iso 400 then there would have been slow speeds . im off to rspb minsmere on friday.

I like all the series but I think that my favourite would be the chaffinch. Were these taken in your garden, and if so how did you get so close?

i do aspecialy like to do starling shots they are so colourful it would be a shame not to.
all of my garden work is done either camo gear or use my observatory as a hide.
