I liked the lines of this building, but the mid-day shadows were cool too.

I agree. This is a cool photo... like the shadows.

...But still the clever north wind was not satisfied. It spoke to her of towns yet to be visited, friends yet to be discovered...

Looks like a house from the old Miami Vice tv show.. I love the shot, black and white is perfect and the shadows really set it off...
