my first GBH!

I used to see those birds all the time back when I lived in Prince Edward Island (Canada). But back then I wasn't into photography.

The pics are not as good as other great blue heron pics I've seen here but I'm quite satisfied. Especially given that I didn't expect at all to see that bird today.

These are great shots. I've never seen them on grass or out of the water.

Wonderful shots of a GBH out of its normal element. I really like the way in which the BG colours of the first shot match the bird's eye & bill.

Yes, I don't see them often either standing in the grass either. And this one was in the Botanical Garden, in the middle of Montréal. Apparently it lives there, from what other photographers told me.

It's quite astonishing the variety of wild birds that consider that spot their territory. But I guess it's normal to a certain degree, since it's like a green oasis in the city.
