the linwood grill was the location for ex-Dead Boys (best known for the punk rock scorcher "Sonic Reducer") and Rocket from the Tombs guitar player Cheetah Chrome. joining him were three oldtime boston bands from the 70s, Unnatural Axe, The Nervous Eaters, and Classic Ruins. a good time was had by all as people from back in the day came out in support (the singer for the Ruins joked that it was a 40+ show). the guitar player for the Axe was videotaping the show, and brought his own strobe/umbrella on the right side of the stage which helped immensely.

a couple addenda here...a local punk rock kid was selected to sing lead on "sonic reducer" and he made the most of it...tons of fun. richie also joined in w/ him for a song. great show.

Narlus mate, 5 in the first set, Is amazing, its really really retro, gritty and just all round a fab image, also the last shot in second set is awsome again with the Retro feel, both photos remind me (Now baring in mind i wasnt around then) of Punk Rock UK scene ( The Sex Pistols, The Clash etc etc) very very cool, i also like what you have captured in 2 and 3 loads of energy. also No.7 in the first set is cool, Very wide lense what was used??

the first shot in second set, im in 2 minds weather i simply just like it, or i really like it. There is something that i find appealing, but its not ur usual shot, il have to get back to you with it lol.

Great stuff mate.
Cheers

James....

First set #5 and last three of the second set are nice.
Good energy. Second set looks like fun ;)

Always fun when the audience participates. (external link)

hey james, thanks a ton, much appreciated.

for #7, i was using my 17-55 set at the widest, and was very close to mr chrome.

that was a bit of a crapshoot. the pit was going a bit nuts, so i stuck my camera over my head and prayed. probably not how i would have framed had i had my eye to the viewfinder, but i decided i liked it enough to keep it.

I cannot even relate to these ... but I gotta' tell ya' that I love your descriptions of the bands, often with a little history thrown in as though you spent the night pouring over Wikipedia (what I have to do!) Can't wait to get back to Andover and go shooting with you!
