Started off wet - very wet, had to find a carrier bag to weatherproof the camera and lens.

However, it cheered up after lunch and by the end of the day was lovely.

Will post some more pics shortly. Both these - 30D & Sigma 100-300 f4 & Sigma x1.4 T/C.

For the qualifying I headed out of the pits round to Camp Corner and towards the exit of Bobbies

For the race I headed out towards Quarry, trying to get the start at Folly. They cut down the race from a 15 lapper to 10, so didn't get many at Quarry (grr).

The carrier would have been yellow I believe;)

Glad to see the car made it to the end, hope you and your brother enjoyed Combe and have plenty of shots to prove it.

btw....I was the one with the Sigma "in the dry" at Bobbies, pleased to meet you.

A little bit of rain always adds to the dynamics of a picture - that's why we bring Brands along ;)
I like really like the first shot.
How did your brother get on?
Andy

I must say that looking at all the pics on this forum, i often find the wet ones seem to have more natural contrast the the bright sun ones, it seems to add a real mood to the shot, pain in the ass though if you are trying to keep youself/camera dry.
(Only have to ask Joffan about keeping camera's dry, it can get expensive.)

Yes, guilty as charged, I was the chap with the yellow plastic bag waterproofing. Worked well :) Nice to meet you.

The qualifying for Monoposto was all classes in one session, these being a mixture of single seaters with 1200, 1600, 1800 or 2000cc engines, a mixture of bike engined cars, Formula Renault, Formula Vauxhall Lotus, Formula Fords and ex-Formula 3cars like ours. The race itselt was split, a race for 1200-1800 and another for 2000 cars.

Overall pole was a 1m 24.8. My brothers time (first race, first real wet conditions) was a 1m 36.2 and was 20th out of 36 (11th in class)

Race for 2000cc cars was dry and finished in 10th place (12 finishers and 2 retirements). Best lap was a 1m 11.8, compared to the fastest lap of 1m 7.7 although they cut our race down from 15 to 10 laps.

Really like the first one, the water adds to the atmosphere, by the way I think your sensor needs cleaning (Reminds me I must do mine also)

Cheers
Ian

Thanks.

Yes, sensor probably does need cleaning. I'll try my rocket blower first - I've never actually cleaned a sensor before - first time for everything :)
