Look pretty good, but a bit flat (the image not the gal. ) Is this with only 1 light? If so, it appears to be too straight on. Try moving it to the side and raising it and fill the shadows a bit with something reflective (sheet, shirt.) Also, it seems you've lost some of the blacks in her shirt and it kind of blends into the background. Moving the light may help this. Keep experimenting! That's the fun part.

Thanks for the tips. It was just one light.I had the light about 7 feet off the floor and she was in a high rise stool. Is there a way to make it not flat ?Will another light help with the flat look ? The background is just a cheap bed sheet.

I'm late looking at this.. It's so hard learning to use the strobes. I always end up underexposing because I'm afraid of hot spots...

Anyway.. this is a little dark on my monitor, so I edited it quickly for you... Bumped up the curves and added brightness/contrast... dodged a little around her face, and defogged...

Hope you don't mind... ps.. you're wife is a very attractive lady :)

You are doing better than I, with strobes. Mine always come out to underexposed.
Nice photo and a beautiful model you have!

Thanks Kristy and iSpark. I will be sure and tell her. I am learning to shoot in raw so I can adjust the exposure and such. I wll be getting another light soon for fill so hopefully that will help with the not wanted flat look.

I always shoot in RAW... has saved me on more than one occasion... Nice back-up while learning... :)

I use RAW plus lowest level jpeg for now. Keep shooting.. it's looking pretty darn good to me, and you don't really have any hotspots... so that's great! :)
