Trevor and I met at Orby Head last night to see if we could spot the Peregrine Falcon that he shot a few nights ago. It was quite odd. There were very few birds around where there should have been all kinds of them.

So I though I would present this series of bird environment shots.

Cormorants nesting on a sandstone bank.

nice shots Shirley, your beached eagle turned out much better than mine, just out of reach of my mighty Tamron ;). Too bad the Peregrine didnt show up for the meeting, maybe next time.

Nice environmental shots, Shirley. Makes me want to visit. We vacation in Maine every September and head up to New Brunswick every once in a while. How far up to PEI and how would one get there from the mainland? Just curious.

The eagle shot is a clear winner. Like it's trying to keep its feet dry.

ED, I havent been to Maine since I was a kid, but I believe Bangor is about 9-10 hours away from here. Once you are in New Brunswick, just follow the signs for Monton, and once you get near there you'll see signs for PEI via the Confederation Bridge. It takes 13 minutes to cross the bridge at the speed limit of 80 Kph, I think its 13 Kilometers long.

Hi Trevor. It's strange, I haven't seen any birds around my yard today either. Perhaps they all headed to Badega Bay. (The Birds) :)

Thanks Ed. You would just follow the Trans Canada Highway toward Fredicton, Moncton, Amherst, and then follow the signs to the Confederation Bridge.

Thanks Steve. Perhaps he didn't want to get sand in his talons. :)

...makes you wonder why it's so popular with all the poop lying around :p

You should see Cape Tryon where thousands of cormorants nest. That will really make you wonder.
