Hers some of my pics from yesterday when Shirley (booswalia) and I met to try and find the Peregrine Falcon. The Falcon was a no-show, and as Shirley mentioned in her post, the birds just weren't where they should have been.:(

#1 Beached Eagle. As Shirley and I photographed this Eagle, an Osprey made his plunge and came up with a Flounder. While we watched the Osprey, the Eagle took flight (we both missed the take off sequence we were waiting for). Well, fighting the very strong winds, chasing this nimble and determined Osprey while being harassed by a crow...It would have been easier for the Eagle to find his own meal..The Osprey never gave up his catch.

#2 the chase, notice the flounder the osprey is carrying

#3 The crow joins in

#4 This one of the Eagle was a few minutes before the Osprey incident.

#5 Heres a snapshot of a crow I took on the way to meet Shirley

Hey Trevor. Looks like you have some interesting birds there on the island. But that crow looks like one mean mother! Well done.

Thanks Gary, appreciate it :D.

Thanks Ed, Some of our crows get very big, and have massive bills, at first glance they can be mistaken for a Raven.

Great action series, but I like the close up of the crow the best. Must be nice to have an eagle & an osprey at the same time!

Thanks ArcticED, In the summer months at least once a day when we are home we see the eagles take an ospreys catch from him right over our house. We have lots of Eagles around, and the Ospreys seem to take the same route home with their catch every day. Its inevitable they will meet up. Now, I just have to keep my camera ready when I am home.;)

You managed to get some really nice shots, Trevor. I really like the eagle flying along the beach and the Rustico Harbour shots too. ...and that crow is something else. Great shot.

Thanks Stephen !:D

Thanks Shirley, the eagle flying past the beach is my fav. of the group.

Mitch, the crows are almost as tame as the chickadees now, I have 3-4 that visit the ground under the feeder daily.
