I use Photoshop Elements 5 to manage my photo collection. I have a significant number of photos that I want to caption and tag. I have a laptop PC and an hour per day spent sitting on a train to/from work, and I'd like to put that time to use by progressing the tagging project. But I don't want to use the laptop for image editing, because the display's not good enough - I'll do all the editing on my big desktop PC, which also has my backup disks etc. attached.
I know it's legal to install PSE on both PCs. But I'm not sure whether I can do what I want to do. Here's my idea:
- move a bunch of photos from the desktop to the laptop;
- import them into PSE on the laptop;
- tag and caption them on the laptop;
- write the tags and captions to the files;
- move the photos back to the desktop;
- delete the photos from the PSE catalogue on the desktop;
- re-import them into PSE on the desktop.
Will that work? Will it work for RAW files as well as JPEGs / TIFFs / PSDs / whatever? Can you foresee any problems?
