No question about it, Scott, you are the king photographer of RWBs. The details of the feathers are just superb, especially considering the black color of the bird.

Good stuff! :)

It's all in the light, my friend. See, ya gotta catch the bird so...

Hey! I'm not giving *you* any more tips on RWBs!

Dang show-offs. Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he takes off with all the fishing trophies. No Way!

:)

BTW, I've got a couple of female RWBs, too. 8) How 'bout you?

Beautiful shots, as always.

Are these practice shots for the competition??

Well, I've been going out trying to get a picture of an RWB in flight, but if they hold and pose for me I'll shoot them.

I didn't know there was a competition until Leo beat me.
:pout:

The first one is really nice with the other reeds in the photo. Nice little ritual he had going... Hopefully successful.

Bet he likes sitting on those fat cat-tails rather than the skinny stick in #1! Do they like the fluff on the cattails to eat or to take to their next maybe?
Who knows:)
Nice shots!

Great shots.. You sure managed to get a lot of detail.. Very tricky with coal black birds..

At this time of year, when they spread their red wings and sing like that, they're just trying to impress the ladies :)
