Leo has simply spoiled these standard "perched on the reed stalk" poses for me.

I may never forgive him. :)

EDIT: I know that I'm NEVER gonna forgive that ornithologist-wannabe that told me these were Marsh Wrens. Stupid, stupid man.

Scottes ... great shots ... I'm an avid bird photographer and have "redwinged blackbird on the reed" shots ... can you tell me what lens you used for these?

Are you kidding me, Lazy? ? ?

Some dude - he had binoculars so he musta been an ornithologist - told me they were marsh wrens, I looked them up and they *look* like marsh wrens...

They're not?

Hah! The beak's all wrong!

Grrrrrr.... Stupid, smarmy ornithologist *lied* to me.

Or, maybe, he was about as knowledgable as I am, but much better at pretending...

Back to the books.... And I'm sooooo tired....

They were far too small. But it is a match in Sibley's for a Female RWB. And Sibleys also says that they can be mistaken for sparrows - and I was going with house sparrow but that wasn't right, either.

And Audubon's looks right, too.

But they're so small...
