Tool photos are VERY hard to get. I would not be surprised that they are Tool's own staff.

Sing? Have you seen her live? The lady does have a magnificent voice but I was stunned when I saw a live performance on TV and there was this DJ spinning her albums and her walking back and forth going "UH!..... YEAH!..... ARE YOU WITH ME!?" and doing her moves.

Don't get me wrong, she *can* sing. She *can* dance but I wouldn't pay to watch a DJ play her albums while she just strides from one side to another.

The few times she actually *did* sing with a full backing band I truly dropped my jaw.

Another female singer is J-Lo. I'm not a fan of her albums but the live show that was filmed in South America had me going "respect!". Dude, she really knows how to work an audience and sounds way better live.

Back to the topic - 30 second rule is just dumb. If they don't want weird photos published then hire a tour photographer instead.

I'd prefer "Selena" to J-Lo... and Beyonce, I don't care for... but I like your idea of a "tour photographer"...

I just wouldn't want to be riding around in a bus with a bunch of people... Maybe we could fly there and met at the venue...

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of shooting Tool at the Melbourne Big Day Out and was lucky to get some reasonable shots. The three previous shows on the BDO tour no one got a single shot of them because they implemented a one shot rule but waited until it was dark before they took to the stage and then played in complete darkness. Still not as bad as The Killers who refused to allow any photographers in the pit at all.
In Melbourne Tool still had the one shot rule and no lighting but came on before it was fully dark - here's one of the shots.

lol... that might be true but, this is why it would make me sick....
Ready?... are you sure you wanna hear this? Positive?

Id much rather be Slamming in the pit at an old school black Flag show, or At a Dead Kennedys show...Ahhh but if I could only get my hands on a time machine.... Where the hell is "Will Smith" when ya need him?

Seriously.... im a 70-80's kid... my early years were Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, the who, Nugent.. then it was the Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Damned, then it got worse before it got better....lol

whats with the one shot rule??? do they think people are gonna get rich off selling their photos? do they think no one has a right to earn $$$ except for them? is it because they want a cut? these People are ARTISTS and should recognize other ARTISTS and as ARTISTS they should also know what a struggle it is to make $$ from ART! Talk about selling out.
its all Gimme, Gimme, Gimme...

Dude, we are so on the same page. I'm born in the 60's. I love 70s disco, 70's rock, 80's rock. Oldschool Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd. I love progrock too. Genesis, Saga, Yes. Add AOR, Journey, Styx, Boston.... and yes, where is "Will Smith" when you need him?

It was such a great concert too

I'm not sure how Beyonce or any of her ilk can be classed as putting on a great concert it is all a highly choreographed production rather than a concert to me. Yes she can sing, yes she can dance, yes she looks great but does she deliver when it comes as far as passion, honesty and intensity? I severely doubt it - passion and intensity will win out over every time over a fantastic stage production.

That said, would I like to photograph Beyonce? Yes I'd love to but not under a 30 second rule or having to jump through the hoops re having images approved etc.
