I hear you john, don't worry about being blunt thats why I am hear.
Sometimes it's disheartening to get an unexpected result like this... especially with a good lens like the 50mm f1.4... but, it's the nature of this business... stage lights dictate results substantially.. and often hoping to have captured what we see on stage is the only way to go... Thereafter, post processing has to save the day... If it doesn't, there isn't much we can do...
Of course we could hope for the ISO 6400 EOS body and a 50mm f1.2L lens...
