I just got the 70-200 2.8L IS and shall be reaping the benefits of the rebates that are on offer right now[hopefully!], but i need to know if i'm likely to have a problem with my claim.....
Problem: i have to send a copy of my receipt as well as the barcode from the box, well on inspecting my receipt i noticed that the vendor that i purchased the lens from has put the serial/barcode number of the lens on the receipt - except he has written one digit incorrectly! Do you think canon will look at that and say hey, they don't match!!! you can forget your £130 rebate sonny! or is that not likely to even be looked at? from all the stories i've read i'm a little concerned, as Canon seem to find any way possible not to actually pay out......
On a side note, and more importantly.... will the minor slip up affect my insurance if i should ever need to claim on it??
Thanks
Steve
ps.... sorry if it's in the wrong forum, couldn't decide if it would be better in the lens forum or general discussion.....
