On a recent trip to central cal I stayed witha friend who has a couple of ponds on her property where this bird liked to come and parade around. I never saw it fishing or eating.

Thanks Gary, I liked shooting this bird because one minute it had it's neck streched out, the next, pulled in. Some with comb spread some with a smooth back. Almost like photographing 4 different birds.

The light's a little harsh on the first few, but I absolutely love the "hairdos" you captured in those shots!
