The Green Back Heron (Little Green Heron) is one of my favorites to photograph. These guys are small when compared to other herons. The only time I am able to get close to them is when they are looking for food. This little heron flew to several different perches this morning watching the water and grabbing a few. The sun had not made it up past some shade trees, so the light was even and somewhat filtered. The size of the herons pupils gives an idea of the light levels. All of the shots were with 20D with 100-400IS L with natural light. All are full frame images.
