I have been shown a great ressource (unfortunately in German only):
a website that analyzes completed eBay Germany auctions for Canon EF lenses.
So if you're in Europe and interested at which price a specific Canon lens 'normally' sells on Ebay (complete with examples of completed auctions), take a look at

If you have any questions because you do not speak German, don't hesitate to ask here in the thread.
But I guess it's pretty self-explanatory ... click on the links to go to a list of the lenses in the figured focal range...
Wonder if there's something similar for US auctions...
