I purchased a pair of B+W filters and a pair of Giottos rocket blowers (everything arrived pretty quickly, in retail packaging and otherwise pretty well packed, in good shape) from them through eBay and had a good experience. I wish I'd known about the website (hvStar) at the time; seems cheaper that way than through the auction site. I may try a polarizer through the website....

Thanks for the info Dahdee. It really pays to read the "threads" on things you are particularly interested in. Hoya 77mm Pro1 Digital CPL is $122.21 @ www.2filter.com (external link) vs. $60.90 @ hvstar.net (on sale - so don't know til when)
Will take my chance on this one.

There's a dedicated hvStar/maxsaver/besteastern thread in this forum, where some discussion involved speculation that this seller might be shipping fakes. I don't know what to think of that. The B+W 67mm UV MRC filter I got from them looks exactly the same as the same item I bought from B&H at approximately the same time. Packaging is the same, too. Weird.
