downy woodpecker w/ question

ill make a long story short...

went from a dell crt w/ paintshop pro -> iMac 24" w/ elements 4. seems my "workflow" is screwed up and im just guessing how to post process my images.
so i gotta ask how this image looks to you...

Well, it looks nice and sharp, and the color is right, but, it looks flat. I'd give it a boost of contrast. And if your shooting in RAW, a touch of shadow.

i shot this with a 30D ( I regularly use a 20D ) with Neutral setting - could that be an issue?

Sure, it could be. Take a look and see what the Picture Style and White Balance is set at. But it doesn't matter if your shooting in RAW as you can correct everything to do with light and color in a RAW editor.

Looks good here I agree with Mitch could boost contrast without loosing detail

If you want to be really picky perhaps a bit of contrast boosting in the tree bark, other than that all looks fine here
