Brilliant series Mitch, that Bigmas working well, with your help of course.

Thanks Adi. Yup, finally got a handle on this lens. :)

Very nice! #1 and #4 are killer shots! I wish I had a backyard!

Thanks Montreal. Having a yard you can do things in is a requirement for me. :)

Beautiful pics Mitch ! I saw a pair today in my yard but I got nothing as good as your shots.

Thanks Chris. Hey, the first time they were here, I got a couple hundred blurred pics for some reason. That's why I was so glad they are hanging out here.

Super series Mitch, the male looks a right poser. Quality! :)

Thanks Phil. He is a poser. He's here all the time now and I've seen the females several times since I took these. I just put my little birdbath up a couple hours ago, so maybe they will start using it soon for some future poolside shots. ;)

Mitch you're killing me with this series! I'm hoping to get just one shot of a Rose-Breated Grosbeak this year and you get the whole family in one sitting. Congratulations.

HAHA, thanks Stephen. Hey, they just got here a week or so ago, and came all at once, so if they are working North, they ought to be there just about any time. :)

They seem to like feeders. At least these guys went right to mine and they seem to be right at home with people around. Not a deep woods bird. In fact, I haven't seen any in the wetlands or forest areas I go to.

Thanks Peter and Trevor. They are very nice looking birds and have a nice song too. And bigger than I thought before I saw one. Almost starling size. And you can see them a long way off. :)

And you can see them a long way off..... I can picture one bird of prey talking to another indicating a "Stealthy" photographer off in the distance. :D

They seemed pretty relaxed up under the tree branches, but that male out in the open definately had his head on a swivel, looking at the sky all the time. So I'm assuming they do get attacked fairly often to have learned that. I also notice the Cowbirds do that too. It might be an instinct. And yet the Blackbirds and Grackels don't have it, probably because they always have lookouts to give the warning, where these guys work alone.
