i went to an outside wedding this past weekend, just as a guest. my son and i drifted away and i took a few pictures of him. i've posted one of them and would like to get your thoughts on the results. i didn't pose him or anything, but positioned myself so i could get the bridge in the background reflecting in the lake.........

Looks sharp and nice idea. The biggest problem I see is that the reflection of the bridge cuts through his head. Your exposure is good though.

yeah... the reflection of the bridge cuts right through his head. I can see how you think it is slightly dark. I think it is an excelent shot though. Great exposure. I am new to this, but i think its a good shot!

cute pic, yes just a little dark.
the bridge shadow doesn't bug me.
bit centered but the bridge would look funky with a rule of thirds positioning.

The colors and focus are good but if it's supposed to be a picture of your son he should be a lot closer. This looks like a picture of a park with a child in it.

yes it is a picture of my son, but if there is a decent background why not get both. it doesn't take away from the subject. doesn't look much like a park though.

My point was that it DOES take away from the subject if the subject was your son. Reducing the 'subject' to less than 10% of the image doesn't help present it IMO. If it's a photo of the park (sorry, it still looks like a park) then that's another issue. If it's a snapshot of your son in a park it's fine.

You asked for C and C and I've given you mine.
