what is the best lens for low light concert photography on a 1.6x? I would think one of the 50mm or 85mm primes but what do I know, I am just an amatuer.

If you are right up front, I have found the 17-55 F2.8 IS to be an awesome concert lens. If you have abit more room, then perhaps the 85mm F1.8 would be cool.

Focal length depends on the venue and how close you'll be to the stage. Canon 20D w/grip, 300D, Powershot SX100 w/HF-DC1 flash, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L, 85 f/1.8, 17-55 f/2.8 IS, 50 f/1.8, 580EX and some other stuff...

Just my 2 cents. Justin Evidon
