Ryan, 8 months today and not very happy about it. (teething)
Still - he's sitting up and not too fed up with daddy taking yet more photo's of his fine self. (thanks Weka for the borrow of the 85 f/1.2 & 5D...)

I was trying to line him up between two doorframes at the time (he was facing a window) could probably darken it a little but it doesn't look too bad printed.

Yes, missed the focus by about 4 inches - spot on in the middle of the frame and at f/2 so too thin really. There's always going to be a next time.

You could always add a slight blur the the whole picture except for his eyes to really bring them out.

I love th einclusion of the toy. It really makes this shot, IMO.

I think the background is fine.. it's photojournalistic.. It's a great shot.. The focus does seem to be on his shirt, but otherwise it's fine. If you sharpen the eyes selectively, it should help to bring the eyes upward again.
