Hello all,

Quick querie, 7dayshop are doing their own versions of the BP511s at £10 for two. Anyone tried them and have any comments? I skim read the batteries sticky but didn't spot any reference... Very cheap but does that mean they're useless or gonna break in any way?

Only interested as I'm gonna be away with two cameras using 511s, two up in grips and won't have a lot of chance to charge, thought they may do as last resorts, unlikely they'd get much use outside this trip.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Dave.

I have used the 7dayshop ones and have had no issues at all with them.

Cheers Skids, that's all I was after. A bit of reassurance. :)

They are silver!

But they work as advertised, lasting longer than Canon's batteries. Though they spend a lot of that time with the battery meter set to one bar which means you cannot use sensor cleaning mode. The camera thinks it means they are about to die so will not let you.

Beyond that annoyance I have had no problems and have been very happy with them. £10 for two longer lasting batteries compared to £45 for just one of Canon's shorter lasting ones. It is a pretty easy decision.

But silver? Why?

Michael.

LOL, you can't see the silver when they're hidden in the bag or inside the camera! :p

Are they a higher MHA rating then?

Cheers, Dave.

Yes, 1500mAh compared to the 1390mAh of the Canon ones, and it makes such a difference.

For the price I would buy another pair but they last so long between charges that it is not worth it. You would have to shoot a movie in rapid fire mode to have any chance of wearing them both down.

Michael.

I've got a pair of these. I actually like the fact that they are a different colour than my SterlingTek ones so I can tell em apart.

Only used them once at a wedding I did a couple of weeks ago. No probs so far.
