That is a better shot. I'd love to see one here.

Slow day for Wood Thrushes, I guess. ;)

Very nice shot. Beat the fence shot hands down.

Also beats my branch across the body shot which is falling down the page.

Well done.

thanks Ed! I don't know why they are suddenly so plentiful - I've never seen them before, and this morning, I've seen at least four, bobbing across the lawn like robins, which they greatly resemble. All of the other interesting species I saw last week have disappeared.:(

Same here. After a really good weekend, the birds seemed to have disappeared this past week. No Warblers, no Orioles, I did manage to "pish" out a male and female Scarlet Tanager but didn't have the camera. But otherwise, it has been very quiet. Wonder what's up?

are you having lack of rain up in the Valley? We've been at least a week without, and the temps are rising, as is the humidity. But if it's drought that's bothering them, I should think my two bird baths (which I'm herniating myself cleaning every day) should draw them in. So far, just blue jays and cardinals. And red-winged blackbirds, of which there are far too many.
