Male Kingfisher

During a wet miserable day with not much birdlife around, this little beauty turned up, a male Kingfisher(Male has a black beak Female has an orange lower beak) got this at Clara Vale Gateshead Tyne and Wear.

I must admit, the picture is pulled forward a bit and some slight noise reduction used, but this kingfisher and his mate are regular visitors to this pond.

Very nice shot mate but too much NR. You have lost the feather detail on the birds front and back. I am sure if you posted the original some kind soul would have a pop at it.

I bet you had to wait for that one! The most detail I have ever seen on a kingfisher is the electric blue flash shooting across the horizon!

The Noise reduction was hardly used, even on the original picture it seems the same, here is the original picture for you have a look just how little NR was used.

Nice image here with nicely saturated colors and the rain adds a nice element. I like the first one for the lack of noise but the second one has some nice details lost in the first ...the 3 filaments of spider web are nice in the second one.
