I finally drove around with my new 300mm f/4 IS lens looking for birds. I don't usually "shoot" birds, but I thought I would give it an attempt.

I don't understand how pictures like this can drop off without a reply. These are excellent shots of a bird I have never seen. Do you know what it is?

They are great shots, what a stunning bird. As for #3 how lucky was that........ People can wait forever to get a shot like that, well done :)

Overcast skys. We've had storms just about every day for a few weeks (just north of Dallas), there is anther strom passing through right now.
