Except for #1, this was shot entirely with the 17-55 IS and 70-200 IS pair on 2 20D bodies. No lockups. Light primarily by alien bees in the hall. Fill by 580EX and Flipit where used.

Thanks!
-Mickey

Nice shots. My favorite one is #2. There's something about #1 that I dont like. The black and white conversion seems to be a little too white.

Isn't #1 infrared?

Yes, #1 is true digital IR. The D60 body is permanently modified to shoot IR. This image might use a little levels work, but the light leaves and grass are a product of the IR sensitive medium. #2 is converted to BW from color.
Thanks!

Can you brighten the faces of the groomsman on the left in #2? #3's a bit cheesy. #4 looks too ordinary - try lighting it differently and standing closer. No too bad for a 2nd shooter.

Thanks Verty!

Tim, thanks for your eval. Yep, those faces can be adjusted. Good call. Cheesy... yeah I guess it is. Sometimes it seems like my creativity is a little stifled on location. How did you deal with that early on? Maybe it's confidence building. As for changing the lighting in #4, what would you do? We had 2 strobes pointed up in 2 corners of the room. You can see she's facing up into one and the other is providing rim light on his hair. I can definitely see getting closer as helping. I was hoping to get a shot of the couple with the friends around to show 'the love' and the environment, but they never gathered, even though there was some weak prodding by the DJ.

Kind Regards,
Mickey

Thank you, Jenni. The cupcake cake was an interesting thing. I liked the expression she shot back at me. Can you imagine these little hand sized objects at a rowdy wedding? Food Fight! ;-)a

Props to Mickey. He was the second shooter for me, and I must say, if anyone in his area is looking for a second shooter, I would highly recommend him -- very professional, very knowledgeable, trustworthy, and an all-around great guy! He represented my company like I had wanted and expected.

It is tough being a second shooter and getting the perfect images especially if the bride is involved. I think we all take cheesy shots from time to time and you never know, that might be the picture they want. My thought is on # 4 you might want to zoom in on them to capture the Dip better. I think this is a shot that would be better if the couple is the focus and not the entire room. That cake reminds me of a wedding I have coming up in October only they are having a guest list of 500. That should be a big cup cake, cake.

Keep up the good work.

Sincere thanks, Bob. You were very supportive and your own manner makes it easy to work as a team and to support the customer in the best way. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks to you as well, Gateruner. You are right, as a second shooter, it's not as easy to 'make' opportunities. I have another shot of a different dip that I'll post. It's a bit closer. I can't imagine 500 cupcakes on a cupcake rack! You might need an ultra-wide for that one.

Regards,
Mickey

The other dip wasn't as flattering as I remember, but this shot preceeded it.
