The first one is a prize-winning shot, no doubt.
I would just enlarge the frame around the bird by about 20% or so......that way the bird would not feel boxed in so tightly.

Rick two great shots here although Number 1 gets my vote for having the full bird in the frame. I love the exposure, eye detail and bokeh.

The second image is as sharp and well exposed as the first but the full bird in the first image gets my vote. Stunning detail and light with excellent BG...Beautiful!!
